Shelly Ann Sankar and James Channing, May 16, 2009, Traditional Indian Wedding Ceremony and Reception

The traditional Indian marriage ceremony and reception for Shelly and James was a visual highlight of our Spring season. The bride and groom first celebrated their marriage in a Catholic ceremony at New Orleans' famed St. Louis Cathedral, at about 1:00 PM on Saturday afternoon. The wedding party and guests, totaling about eighty, then adjourned to BH&G where our Beaux Arts pavilion, gloriously decorated, set the scene for the second ceremony. A brief but intense rain shower greeted them on arrival. Undaunted, the entourage waited for the shower to pass and then fulfilled the plan. Links to two photo albums are posted below, one made by Catie Dearborn, for BH&G, and another provided by James' and Shelly's families.

Coordination and decoration for the event was provided by Emily Sullivan http://www.getpolished.biz/

Anila Keswani http://www.insidenirvana.com/homepageafterindex.htm decorated the pavilion for the traditional Indian marriage ceremony.

Pigeon Caterers http://pigeoncaterers.com provided the food and beverage.

Congratulations to Shelly and James!
