With one hundred forty family and friends in attendance, Amanda Silver and Zeynel Karcioglu celebrated their marriage on Valentine's Day, 2009. Amanda is completing a medical residency in Boston, and Zeynel practices law in New York City. Zeynel and his family had attended a friend's wedding and reception at BH&G eleven years ago, and had fond memories of the setting. From Boston and New York, the bride and groom did their own planning and coordination, with equipment from Event Rental, catering by Michael's, and music by the Don Vapie Quartet. Haley Green, a photographer based in California and a friend of the bride, recorded the preliminaries at the house earlier in the day, as well as the ceremony and reception that evening. Intermittent rain showers were not a serious problem. Food service occurred in the dining room, with the bar set up on the back gallery. Two tents were employed: one on the parking area for the band and dancing, and another on the lawn for dining and relaxing.
