Lintz Rivera and Terry Adams, April 23, 2009, a Jazz Fest Wedding and Reception

Ms. Lintz Rivera a native of New York, currently residing in New Orleans, and Dr. E. Terence Adams, a native New Orleanian currently residing in Raleigh, NC, will be married on April 23, 2009. The ceremony and reception will take place at the Benachi House and Gardens, on Thursday evening, just before the 2009 Jazz & Heritage Festival begins the very next day.

Lintz and Terry met through a mutual friend at the 2006 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. As a result, the couple is getting married and has elected to have a Jazz Fest-themed and timed wedding and reception. Their love of music (Lintz is a volunteer at WWOZ), Jazz Fest and New Orleans food will be the backdrop to a casual reception. Music will be performed by Bob French and the Original Tuxedo Jazz Band. The food will be traditional Creole and a crawfish boil.

The couple chose BH&G for its beauty, location (proximity to Jazz Fest, of course) value, and its ability to accommodate a reception to fit their personalities.

I have know Terry for over ten years now and feel as if Lintz could not have found a nicer guy to spend the rest of her life with. Believe it or not but my wife Vonda, who is from New York also, believes she knows of Lintz from their track and field days. Wow! We wish them the very best and hope to be able to join them at the Benanchi House for this wonderful celebration.

Dean,
You are right! I suspected Vonda and Lintz' paths may have crossed given their respective ages and hometowns. Lintz grew up in Orange County, NY and had a very successful high school career as a quarter-miler there. She was an honorable mention All-American her senior year and went on to St. John's on a track scholarship.
Look forward to seeing you both in April.

Congratulations Terry and Lintz. Don and I are so sorry that we will not be able to attend the wedding but I do want to share a Terry Adams memory. Many years ago Don ran the Boston marathon, was dropped of at the airport by his sister but missed his flight back to Michigan. Having given her his last dollar to to get her out of the parking lot, he had no money nor a credit card with him. He called me up for suggestions as to what to do. Fortunately Terry did not learn enough here at MSU so he went on to Harvard to learn some more. Terry had Don take a cab to his house, paid the fare and was waiting with some scotch and a home cooked meal. So Lintz you will have a good friend in Terry. I have many other stories but I am sure I can be paid off not to disclose. PS where are you guys registered. My e-mail is Becky.McMahon@ht.msu.edu Love and best wishes Becky and Don

Congratulations to the happy couple! Lintz and I went to high school together and have lost touch completely over the years. She made a big difference in my life and for some incomprehensible reason, I googled her name today from my office and saw this post...may your marriage be strong, and may you each be inscribed in the Book of Life for a lifetime together of much joy and happiness!!!!

Missing the wedding was a difficult decision, Terry. Chuck and I had previous plans to spend that week with little Peyton Lowrie and tried to determine how to be in two places at the same time. So, our best wishes were with you and Lintz, and we hope for a lifetime relationship that brings love, respect, excitement and understanding. The uniqueness of the invitation suggests that nothing less is in store. Lintz, we can't wait to meet you and welcome you to the Tuskegee/MSU families. Let's be sure to create an opportunity to get together soon.

ps: Like Becky, I too want to know where are you registered.
